30 años de producción científica sobre comunicación institucional de las universidades: evolución histórica del 1990 al 2020

The scientific interest in the institutional communication of universities is increasingly notable. However, there are no bibliometric studies published in journals indexed in Scopus and WOS that allow us to know the development of scientific production in the field. Thus, this work aims to make a first analysis of the scientific production on the institutional communication of universities during the last 30 years. Four aspects were studied through a quantitative and descriptive methodology: articles, journals, authors, and content. Findings show a state of accelerated growth in this area of study, although it is still in a consolidation phase.
