Abstract

The article reconstructs the reactions raised by the publication of Jordi Solé Tura's book Catalanisme i revolució burgesa, derived from his doctoral thesis This aim is achieved by employing unpublished documents and epistolary found in private archives. The reconstruction of the Catalanist milieu and its relations with left-wing parties in the 1960s takes into consideration the varied ideological roots of Political Catalanism of that time (Catholic, Liberal, etc.). In this context, the article examines the figure of Jordi Solé Tura who shared the precarious condition to which the Francoist regime had condemned Spanish and, in particular, Catalan universities, starting from the consequences of the Caputxinada, in which Solé Tura participated. The article focuses on the reactions of the traditional Catalanism to the publication of Catalanisme i revolució burgesa.
