Voltage-Reconfigurable Magnetic Invisibility: A New Concept for Data Security Based on Engineered Magnetoelectric Materials

Project Details

Description

Data storage, privacy and management are facing some of the greatest security threats stemming from Big Data applications. In this context, the EU-funded REMINDS project will work on a disruptive new concept to boost data security. To that end, it will act directly at the material level, for instance tackling the way information is stored. The project will use voltage to activate/deactivate magnetism via strain- or ion-migration effects while introducing strategies to control the mutual interactions between ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic and ferroelectric materials. The work of the project will transform magnetoelectricity as we know it.
