Project Details

The project has the purpose to clarify the conditions for social life in postargaric communities of Iberian Southeast. We consider two stages, characterized by different socio-historical conditions, as hypothesis. From 1550 cal BC communities of Southeast are very heterogeneous, with pre-eminence of community autonomy, confined political territories and coexistence of small size states and communities without social classes. From 1300 they spread political warlike and there appear aristocratic hereditary groups, which are imposing economic and political power. Toward 900 there is consolidated a ruling class, linked to Phoenician nets, thanks to social relations of production previously developed. We define three objectives of investigation: 1) Demarcation of temporary situations and chronometrical location for archaeological sets define in excavations. 2) Definition of economic, political and ideological activities, linking social spaces and tasks. 3) Characterization of social spaces for labour tasks and access to products (types of places in settlements)
