Transition towards environment-friendly consumer products by co-creation of an oxidoreductase foundry

Project Details

Description

Novel solutions are urgently needed to mitigate the consequences of climate change. Greening consumer products is a big step in this direction. The EU-funded OXIPRO project will explore oxidoreductases – a promising yet underexploited solution for enhancing sustainability. Oxidoreductases are versatile with wide ranging applications including creating value from waste, replacing harmful oxidisers, and enhancing the appearance, quality, and durability of consumer products. OXIPRO will co-develop an oxidoreductase foundry for the efficient transition to greener detergents, textiles, nutraceuticals, and cosmetics industries. The project will develop innovative generic technology platforms based on enzyme intelligence and enzyme technologies to reduce time-to-market of OXIPRO solutions.
