The project has a double objective. First of all the study of optical transitions between electronic states in well ordered GaInP2 grown on GaAs substrates; in particular, a deep study of the intensities and the influence of the tetragonal strain induced in the epilayer by the substrate is in order. The careful study of the fundamental gap is important in view of the importance of the anisotropy in applications within the field of LEDs and injection semiconductor lasers. At the same time we will be interested in the identification of ordering effects on vibrational states, looking at the splitting of the optical active modes and appearence of new folded modes. Within this spirit one would like to study in parallel the optical transition between electronic states and identification of normal vibrational modes in chalcopyrite ternary compounds of the family I-III-VI2, addressing special at
