Description

This research project continues previous ones and aims to contribute to the developing of metal-thiolate chemistry, which constitutes the base for preparing complexes chemically and structurally related to the active sites of many sulphur containing metalloproteins. The synthesis and characterization of homoleptic thiolate complexes with aliphatic thiols, and bidentate mercaptoamines and mercaptoesters is proposed. Also, reactions in the presence of other coordinating species will be studied in order to obtain mixed-ligand thiolate complexes. In a second phase, and based on the previous results, the reaction conditions will be chosen to favour formation of complexes with the following coordination spheres: [MS"sub"2NO],[MS"sub2"N"sub2"O], [MS"sub2"N"sub2"] and [MSS'N"sub2"], where S and S' denote thiolate and thioeter groups.
