Description

The main objective of this project is to increase the understanding of the geodynamic evolution of the Variscan belt, in particular its south-European domain outcropping in the Western Mediterranean region as isolated blocks or segments. A problem for the different segments is that were translated, rotated and partly deformed due to post-Variscan tectonic events. Rather clear Paleozoic tectonic reconstructuins have been made involving the Iberian massif in West Spain, Western and Central French massifs, Bohemian massif, etc...
