Project Details
Description
The project belongs to the field of partial differential equations, with special emphasis on the view point of the theory of infinite dimensional dynamical systems. As a matter of fact many problems with initial and boundary conditions define dynamical systems on the adequate function spaces. Joining the methods of functional analysis with the qualitative methods proper to the theory of dynamical systems, relevant information about the solutions of the problems above may be obtained. Another research line of the project consists in the applications of the techniques just mentioned to the modelization of the dynamics of biological populations, specially to the phenomenon of evolution. A third line consists in the study of the spatial morphology of the solutions, i.e., their qualitative shape as functions of the spatial variables.
