Description
This research has the intention to study the development of the urban system of Catalonia between 1700-1940. Special atention will be placed to the process of spatial difussion of urban functions related with service, seeing this process as a driving force to urbanization and regional development of Catalonia. We think that this project is basic to understand the present urban hierarchy and spatial organization of Catalonia. Finally, this research could be an interesting contribution to catalan Historical Geography
