Sistema de Preparación Automatizada de Documentos (PrADo)

With this project in langage engineering we propose to work on the preparation of software tools for automatic authoring of documents. The project is organised in two sets of activitiews, which correspond to applied research and basic oriented research respectively. The aim of the first set of activities is the development of two prototypes of grammar checkers (for Catalan and for Spanish), which are going to be built in this project on te basis of a preecisting module of surface processing of texts. To this end a user model is going to be built and a correction strategy is going to be devised which is based on a positive description of the correct grammar (and not on the description of the errors,that is, on a negative grammar, as is commonly done). The aim of the second set of activities is to prepare the theoretical framework, both linguistic and computational, so that in a a next phase the grammar checkers can be converted into real style checkers (which, is possibel, would contain other modules to help in the authoring of documents).
