Projecte: Decoding Cell Type-Specific Translatomics in Memory and Structural Plasticity Changes Induced by Cannabis

Project Details

Description

This proposal aims to identify those mRNAs that are translated in CA1 pyramidal neurons following repeated THC exposure and evaluate their roles in THC-induced memory impairment and structural plasticity. Using FUNCAT for protein synthesis assessment, RiboTag for cell-specific mRNA isolation, RNAseq, and targeted mRNA silencing combined with memory tests, we seek to elucidate these molecular mechanisms. Understanding these pathways is crucial for developing novel
therapeutic strategies to mitigate THC's adverse effects on memory and improve the medicinal use of cannabis
