Project Details
Description
In this proposal the production of thick layers of superconductive High Tc materials will be studied. These layers will be depositedby atmospheric and low pressure plasma spray on to metallic substrates. The need of precoating and protecting top layers will be also studied. The main objective of the project is to develop a new ceramic superconductive coating on metallic substrates, with a performance that could make these superconductors a realistic alternative to conventional conductors or superconductors at a large scole. The material can also be used for electromagnetic radiation shielding or as a field shaping like magnetic lenses. Physical, chemical, and mechanical properties will also be extensively investigated. The project has been already aproved by CE.
