The research involved in this project is concerned with 4 aspects: - Topics of cognitive development implicated in the learning and teaching of mathematics as: abstracting, analyzing, categorizating, conjeturating, definig, demostrating, formalizing, generalizating, modelling, synthesizing, representating, conceptualizing, inducting and visualizing, which have a progressive importance in the curricula of the higher degrees. - Research about historical and epistemological mathematic contents, with reference to the main concepts of Calculus. That is to investigate the didactic transposition from the mathematic knowledge to the scholastic knowledge by analysing official curricula and textbooks. - Research on the role of graphic calculators and computers on the learning of Mathematics, with special reference to Calculus. Our research project guarantees assessment and control of these new instruments of teaching Calculus. - Topics linked to mathematic behavior as problem solving which is concerned with pupil'believes when they are solving problems, heuristic processes involved in solving open problems and mathematic strategic games, and analysis of metacognition in experts. Morove, this research is concerned with teaching phenomena, when the individuals studied are students. The methodology of research is qualitative (data and analysis)
