Project Details
Description
The goal of the project is to continue the investigation of some theoretical aspects of particle physics and their interactions including the gravitational interactions as has been traditional in our group (supported by CAICYT first and later by CICYT). The succes of the standard model of the electroweak and strong interactions forces us to analyze the symmetry breaking mechanism (Higgs mechanism or other) and to study the new experimental results in order to confirm the model or to suggest possibles generalizations (supersymmetry, compositeness or other extensions). These new results would be provided by present or future accelerators or by astrophysical data. Furthermore, it is necessary to have a quantum theory of the gravitational interaction. Some steps will be done in this direction.
