Our previous works on the nervous system of Procambarus clarkii, a classical model in cellular neurobiology have demonstrated the coexistence of electrical, chemical, multitransmitter and neurosecretory endings. Our observations allow, also, to suspect the presence of four cell bodies with ultrastructural features of neurosecretion. Our purpose is, here, to analyze the morphology and ultraestructure of such elements through light, electron and fluorescence microscopy, with specific techniques for neurosecretory material. This should lead us to a better knowledge of the morphology of these elements, their processes and terminals, their connectivity and the sites of release of their products. We shall finally discuss their interrelationships with other inter-neuronal communicatory modalities and how do they integrate into the activity of the model
