Description
In the last few years, experimental psychology has been interested in the study of some cognitive processes through aging, among them, the impairment of memory processes and more specificaly working memory processes. Although several hypotheses have been put forward to explain the Age Associated Memory Impairment (AAMI), the most plausible hypotheses are the one that explains this impairment as a malfunction in the working memory mechanisms that control the inhibition of irrevelant information, and the hypothesis of a decreading in processing speed through age. This project aims to investigate these two working memory hypothesis providing new data about the causes of the age differences in working memory. Results will be useful for future intervention
