Mapping and theorising the global International Large-Scale Assessment industry (ILSAINC)

International large-scale assessment, otherwise known as ILSAs, are standardised tests administered by international organisations. They are applied globally and their impact has been growing significantly on education and research. Most importantly, ILSAs have come to be dominated in recent years by a niche of private companies. The EU-funded project ILSAINC aims to map out the global ILSA industry, explore its workings, and probe related industry institutions and power practices. Ultimately, the survey seeks to challenge unfair practices that have been normalised in the field in recent years, making them more transparent and accountable.
