Macrocyclic ligands for the design of new materials for environmental purposes

Project Details

Description

The objectives of the proposed research are to design, synthesise and characterise new materials containing functionalised calix as anchor groups for the selective removal of pollutant agents from water, air and soil. The final aims are: a) to replace solvent extraction technology by environmentally safer technology making use of easily recyclabe and selective new materials; and b) to design membranes containing selective macrocyclic ligands for use in the electrokinetic cell for soil cleaning.
