Project Details

The objective of this research is to analyze the entrance and the stay of women in the labour market from the point of view of the "double female presence". That is to say, considering that the presence of women in the working life (productive area) happens (at the same time) with their presence in the domestic-familiar area (reproductive area). In that sense, the "double female presence" is a "double commitment cost" for the women that affect their possibilities of promotion in their profesional careers and jobs. On the other hand, the "double female presence" hides a big potential as it supposes the development of new and valuable social capabilities understood as paces of work, activities management, mediation and so on. For that reason we have choosen the title of this research: A research about the "double female presence": "A bet for bring into line working life and domestic life." The originality of this research holds on, on one hand, an attempt to show the participation in the employment since the presences or absences of both genders in the working area; and, on the other hand, we have to consider the domestic life as a key element in the analysis processes. In that sense, the deep analysis of the "double presence" and its incidences on the female target, it is a key element in the area labour relationships as for the development and evaluation of the present conciliation policies between working life and domestic life that are being carried out in Spain and the others countries of the European Community.
