La població de Catalunya: estudi històric i territorial

This project is the third in a permanent line of historical and geographical research on population of Catalonia. In previous phases a data bank has been built containing all demographic data at the municipal level (942 units) and analysis have been carried on, both for the period 1787-1991. In this new three-year project we intent to: a) enlarge data bank and analysis by adding the information corresponding to the 1991-1996 period, this including the results of the 1996 Padrón and Estadística Demográfica (Micro-Census); b) start the historical reconstruction of the Catalan population between 1600 and 1900 by methods of inverse projection and from the data extracted from Parish Archives of a sample parishes; c) study the trends in the number of households, lodgings, families and basic indicators on forms of peoplingin all of the municipalities of Catalonia since 1857, starting to explore the continuity in the existence of the inframunicipal units through all the period d) carry on specifical analysis on nuptiality and migrations at general and local levels; e) offer to external users access to our data and products through INTERNET (protocoles web HTTP-HTML)
