Project Details

This research project proposes the study ofa concrete model of terrorism the protegonists of which were the "Bande à Bonnot", formed by French anarcoindividualists, that carried in 1911-1912 the first holdups with cars in Paris and its surrounding areas. The study also intends to investigate the ongoing mythification of the Bonnot group's armed robberies and murders, which had enormous repercussions in the mass press, popular literature and cinema. Borh model and myth were spread from France into Sapin and their influence transformed the activity and style of Sapnish Anarchism as well as the methods of so-called "action sindicalism", characteristic of the anarchosyndicalist union movement, the CNT.
