Description
Our aim is studying the influence of the Olympic Games into the world of International Relations with a dynamic outlook (Cold War, blossoming of the Third World, détente and so on) and having in mind the diverse theoretical approaches (realism, interdependence, globalise). Several issues will be tackled: the influence of the Games in a bipolar system, the CIO as an international actor, the achievement of international prestige by the Olympic cities, The results will be applied to the study og the particular case of the Olympic games in Barcelona
