This subproject is included in a more general project whose aim is to investigate the nature and the role of the values which take part in the scientific practice. The aim of this subporject is i) to study the role of epistemic values in the diachronic phenomena of science and ii) to define the notion of "epistemic progress" in the framework of the scientific progress. Both tasks are necessary in order to evaluate questions such that the cognitive status of scientific theories and the thesis of relativism. With regard to i) the hypothesis es that sciencie is a cognitive activity and, therefore, the epistemic values take part in all its manifestations. But there is not a hierachy of espistemic values given "a priori", in concequence, when we check the models of scientific change we see that different epistemic values play a role in the history of science and that not all of therm have the
