La formación de capital social en España: organizaciones y activistas en 6 municipios.

This project aims at analysing the relations between social integration and political participation. The project is theoretically framed within the debates about models of democracy, citizenship and civil society, as well as how these models determine processes of policy-making. Empirically, the project contains a complex research design combining a representative nation-wide survey (with subsamples in Madrid, the Basque Country, and Catalonia), surveys to a sample of organizations and activist in a number of municipalities, and several discussion groups. This research design makes it advisable to articulate it as a Coordinated Project, containing two subprojects. It should be finally mentioned that this project is the Spanish contribution to a comparative study of 12 European countries, which is being undertaken by a international Scientific Network funded by the European Science Foundation.
