Description
The field of study is that of scientific lexis, particulary in chemistry, following the arrival of Lavoisier's ideas in Spain. The aim of the project is to draw up the vocabulary of chemistry in Spanish, taking into account such aspects as the documentation of terms, lexic rivalries and morphological questions derived from adopting a new nomenclature. Parallelly, whe shall go further into the relations between the Spanish language and the European and classical languages, especially in the 19th century, as well as into the history and philosophy of Spanish linguistic thought in relation to scientific and technical lexis, textual questions about scientific communication, etc.
