Description
This new project intends to complete and enlarge the research on communication policies in Europe carried on within the recently finished research project of the group ("Television and regions in the European Union"), and to investigate new aspects of the relationship between television and regional space. Mainly we propose an analysis of the programming schedules of a significative sample representing the almost 300 european regional tv stations, as well as a research on the efectiveness of this programming regarding the real needs and expectatives of the citizens living in a concrete region. We intend also to study the economic structure of the televisions in the regions (budget, resources, financing), and his implications in the building of the new "information highways" (relationship between new information technologies and regional television).
