Project Details
Description
This project must be considered as part of the investigation developed for the past ten years by Prof. Libardo Torres of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia on insertion of reactive intermediates in the metal(loid)-metal(loid) and metal(loid)-halogen bonds. The objectives of this project are the synthesis and characterization of the new selenium and tellurium compounds having the -Se-C=C-Se- and -Te-C=C-Te- functionality. Their reactivity (additions, reductions, oxidations, etc.) is also studied. X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic methods (NMR, IR, UV, EM) are utilized.
