Project Details
Description
The STEM Sports project aims to enhance the STEM skills and competences of secondary-school students, with a special emphasis on girls, by using sports as real-life applications to teach those subjects. Additionally, it aims to provide secondary school teachers with guidance on how to encourage the growth of students’ STEM competences and boost their interest in STEM, particularly that of girls, through a cutting-edge and multidisciplinary STEM Sports methodology.
The objectives of the project will be achieved through the development of a pedagogical framework for STEM Sports Education; an innovative STEM Sports toolkit with learning activities (e-book); a modular training program for educators to facilitate the toolkit’s implementation; and by pilot testing and disseminating the STEM Sports outcomes to the project’s main target group and relevant stakeholders.
a) A conceptual and pedagogical framework for STEM Sports Education (R2.5).
b) An innovative toolkit with learning activities on STEM Sports (R3.5).
c) A training program for educators for the facilitation of the STEM Sports toolkit (R4.5).
The adoption and application of the project main results will significantly contribute towards the promotion of interest and excellence in STEM and the cultivation of students’ scientific and physical literacy.
