The project of processing the "Diccionario crítico etimológico castellano e hispánico" (DCECH) by J. Corominas and J.A. Pascual (published by Gredos, Madrid, 1980-1991, 2nd edition) consist in transfering to machine-readable form the main etymological and historical pieces of information contained in this dictionary; this means a deap study of the internal structure of each article which aims to create a standard structure able to gather in order the recurrent data of each entry, using as a tool related databases. The essential objective will be ordering and levelling the main informations of the dictionary. We also attempt to make possible the permanent enlargement and the updating with external information to the dictionary itself. The final result of the project will provide a database made up information from the DCECH, which would be open to the study of any researcher of Hispanic l
