Description
This study is a continuation of the GAN 241/89 project, the aim of which was to begin work on "in vitro" fertilization (IVF) techniques, cloning of genes and micromanipulation in caprine embryos. This project is a joint undertaking of the departments of Animal Production and Pathology, Genetics and Microbiology and Cellular Biology and Physiology. The results obtained for the years 1990-92 have lead us to propose the following objectives: a) the utilization of inductive substances for spermatic capacitation, in order to optimise the IVF of prepubertal goat occytes collected from slaughterhouse; b) the cloning of genes corresponding to caprine B-lactogloulin and K-casein and the subsequent characterization of the promoter regions and the preparation of constructions which determine their specific expression in the mammary gland; c) the obtention of transgenic mice and the determination of
