Project Details
Description
This research project aims to study attitudes, strategies, and decision making processes by social agents in front of the mounting uncertainties surrounding the hydrological cycle in Mediterranean environments. Traditionally, water management has granted priority to technological solutions in water supply, flood control and water quality over the modification of human behavior. The alternative of integrated water planning and management is increasingly mentioned to consider other adjustments but we do not know well the role of agents in water management, and their views on the integrated approach. Taking as example, the Muga river basin, the project, will analyze the current state of the hydrological cycle in this area and will contrast new management options with the institutions and agents linked to the resource in the study area.
