The purpose of this investigation is to carry out a comprehensive and integrated geochemical study of the selected hydrothermal alteration area. As epithermal vein systems are a result of a convective hydrothermal fluid circulation in hot volcanic and/or shallow plutonic rocks. The purpose is to determine how the distribution and timing alteration assemblages in fossil hydrothermal systems are related to the formation of the veins. We want to examine the extent of interaction between the vein fluids and surrounding rock. The main aims of this study are: a) obtain a detailed description of the petrography and geochemistry of the outflow and peripheral zones of hydrothermal systems; b) from the obtained data, determine the distribution patterns of environmentally hazardous trace elements and the implications to aquifer contamination; and c) ascertain from the data, applications to the expl
