The research focusses its attention on the relationship between training and employment in situations of crisis. The social representation of training as a strong factor in obtaining a job is today very much extended among workers, employers and among people in general and is also assumed by the administration and the unions. The intention to research examine criticaly this social representation. In the analysis of this social construction, we shall try to distinguish aspects which belong properly to training from others which are ussually "stuck" to training and specifically can be considered as "social and cultural resources" -social networks, etc.- and from others which define people's social situation. The research will differentiate all these factors and relate them to the research, acquisition and change of job in a situation of crisis.
