This proposal applies for funding for three years for two experiments in High Energy Astroparticle Physics. The experiments dubbed HEGRA (taking data in full operation)and MAGIC (construcction) are cosmic ray experiments measuring in the energy ranges: (0.5-100) TeV and (0.02-50) Tev respectively. Both experiments are located in the experimental area of the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, la Palma island, Tenerife. The HEGRA esperiment (High Energy GAmma Ray Astronomy) is in its full data takking phase, alter repair due to the fire two years ago. The six Cherenkov telescopes take data continously, It is foreseen to follow this mode till end year 2003. At present, HEGRA is the only experiment in the world capable to take background free data in High Energy Astrophysics using the method of the measurements done with detectors on board satellites and on ground. The huge MAGIC tekescope is designed to measure in this energy range. The MAGIC (Major Atmospheric Gamma Imaging Cherenkov Telescope) collaboration was formed several years ago (There are 3 HEGRA groups and 3 spanish groups among others) to build the first huge 17 m diameter Cherenkov telescope. The internationsl agreement between the MAGIC collaboration and the IAC (Institute de Astrofisica de Canarias) will be signed on June 4th, 2000, which gives green light to the installation of MAGIC in the experimental aarea of HEGRA. The spanish contribution to the MAGIC telescope are the camera and the counting house.
