Project Details
Description
It is recognized that many synthetic amphiphilic compounds can intercalate into biological membranes and interact with phospholipids, leading to changes in their conformational state and dynamics. These modifications should play a significant role in the origin of some biochemical and functional abnormalities observed when biomembranes are exposed to those compounds.
The purpose of this project is to obtain new molecular data on the mechanisms of phospholipid - amphiphilic drug interaction, and on the induced structural state of all the membrane regions and also of the membrane perturbant added; improving the previous knowledge obtained by other spectroscopic methods
