Description
The processing of materials involves a series of transfomations which are driven mainly under non-equilibrium regime. Apart from the equilibrium state, fully determinde by the phase diagram, there are, also, thermodynamic criteria that drive the competition between the possible phases. These criteria are established from the kowledge of the Gibbs energy of all the phases that may occur according to: i) the overall composition, ii) the initial of the compoenets previous to the transformation and iii) the assisted method by which the transformation is activated. The goal of this Project is to get a deeper knowledge on the kinetics of transformations from a thermodynamic mechanical-statistic method that allows the evaluation of the Gibbs energy differences between the various phases that appear during each of the material processing steps. The objectives of the Project are the study of: - S
