Description
The aims of this project are two fold: the structural research on certain structures (lozenge-shaped "boudins", crenulations, kink-bands) and a more regional aim, concerning the evolution of the Iberian-Armorican arch. In the structural research, field work, experimentation and theoretical analysis will be combined. Experiments will be carried out by means of a deformation stage able to combine simple and pure shear in different proportions (experiments on "boudinage") and by means of a poliaxial press (experiments on crenulations and kink-bands). The results obtained can play an important role in understanding the arch evolution. In the evolution of the arch it is considered that an important role has been played by the indentification of the Cantabrian zone, with a relative westward movement.
