Description
In the present project we pretend to offer an integrated study, of basin scale, of the stratigraphy, facies and organic activity from the Banaston turbiditic complex (Lutetian) and the Rapitan turbiditic system (uppermost Lutetian and Bartonian), included in the Jaca complex. The systems in both complexes are different and we pretend a stratigraphic hierarchy based in 5 levels genetic subdivision. From larger to smaller they are: 1) complex; 2) system; 3) stage; (4) facies association and subsequent sub-stages (high frequency ciclicity); (5) facies tracts; and (6) genetic facies. This hierarchy has a high operative capacity in turbiditic sediments, and it is fuller in more detailed correlation. It is possible to approach the range of correlation of the facies tracts and, in many cases into to the non-channelized deposits systems, it is able to establish bed-to-bed correlations, detailing
