Project Details

Description

The project focuses on the optimization of monoclonal antibodies production in bioreactors by means of hybridoma cells. Cell culture will be perfomed in fed-batch and perfusion mode. In the later case, the use of cells immobilized in microcapsules will be investigated. The monoclonal antibody production is aimed to be maximized by developing optimal strategies of nutrients feed and simultaneous elimination of metabolic toxic products from the medium. For this objective it is necessary to develope on-line measurements of the key compounds in the metabolism. Another important aspect to develope is the cell concentration on-line measurement and the determination of the cell viability. The determination of the metabolic fluxes in hybridoma cells will contribute to the developement of such strategies. The optimization process is completed with that of the antibody purification system by afini
