Elements dramàtics a la música catalano-aragonesa del segle XVII: 01. Catalunya - 02. Aragó

The aim of this research project is to study not the theatrical music of the Spanish Baroque period, but rather the presence of "stile moderno" elements, in the sense of a genuine semantic field, in the staging of text and music combined, a process of which only a few samples are known. This research will enable us to measure the degree of progress in Catalano-Aragonese music; the methodology used can then be applied to other areas of the Spanish musical Baroque, as well as to similar phenomena in the wider European musical Baroque.
