This project aims to describe the way in which the organization of labour has shaped the different agrarian landscapes in Mediterranean Catalunya (11th to 20 th centuries). The final goal is to account for the different stages of the process of investment and tranformation of the capital-land accumulated, as well as for the links of this process with population densities, technological capacities and levels of consumption. The project will cover the following aspects: 1. The morphological and ecological characterization of the chosen spaces through various representations and interpretations of the territory. 2. The technical coefficients determinig at each stage the inputs needed in order to satisfy a given level of consumption. 3. The ways in which agrarian labour was organized and the institutional framework of the labour organization. 4. The periods of crisi and the way in which the territorial system was reorganized after them, through new investments in capital-land
