Description
This research implies the following aspects: To characterize and analyse the students' conceptual and procedural metalingüístic knowledge evolution. To relate the evolution in the students' metalinguistic knowledge with the teachers' conceptions on linguistic amn metalinguistic contents and on the students' learning processes, and with the linguistic curriculum contents. To study generative linguistics and cognitive linguistics contributions as a basis to teach and guide the students' metalinguistics reasoning. To analyse metalinguistic learning processes in natural teaching and learning contexts in different levels of primary and secondary education. To elaborate a model of teaching and learning language contents based on the students' matalinguistic reasoning. The investigation will follow two methodological paths: a) a cross study on the students' concept of "subject" along primary and secondary levels; b) a multiple case study applied to the analysis of didactic action and of the metalinguistic reasoning process in teaching and learning in natural settings
