This investigation project is the continuation of the study about the appropiation of the written language by the deaf adolescent initiated by the group. This study explored some aspects of the cognoscitive development and the interactions between the deaf pupil and his/her teacher in the classroom. This project is focused on two very close aspects. The first one is the pedagogical intervention based on the results of our previous study. It tries, on the one hand, to apply two instructional linguistic programmes about the lexical acquisition and the narrative comprehension and production by the deaf; and, on the other hand, to determine the main aspects about the text and the communicative adaptations. The second one is the exploration of the deaf's cognitive process. It studies the categorization process and the mathematical reasoning, and their different forms of representation.
