Description
The research aims to explore and systematise four fundamental axis for the optimal development of foreign immigrant children's, academic learning, intercultural sociability and integration in the urban context of Barcelona, in those areas where their presence is higher. 1) Childhood conceptions and ideas about the family/community educational role among local and immigrant groups schooling their children in Ciutat Vella, Sants-Montjuïc and Nou Barris-Sant Martí. 2) Educational expectations in the migratory projects of different groups both from the perspective of insertion and from that of return, with special focus on gender issues. 3) Problems, needs and educational responses that the schools detect and develop in their everyday work with local and immigrant students, their families and their communities; specific and common aspects. 4) Role played by services and association networks in this context in the promotion or prevention of educational and integration requeriments for children and youth in contact. The results obtained will be applied to the improvement of teacher's formation, to the strategies of realtion between family and school and to the planning of social resources destinated to the integration of younger generations emerged from new immigration
