    Project Details


    The goal of this project is the design, development, prototyping and evaluation of a real-time visual processing system, built following principles of active vision, and oriented towards mobile robotics applications. The system comprises the following elements: a motorized binocular head with a reconfigurable external interface, an heterogeneous visual processing system built using three different types of devices (FPGAs, single-chip multiprocessors and general purpose processors), and a software development system to ease the development of applications supported by these hardware facilities and binocular head. The scope of the project includes the development of prototypes, the implementations of applications and evaluation of the whole system. The project's final outcome will be an high-performance integrated active vision system applicable to different scenarios.
