Description
The aim to study the effect of the use in the classroom of instructional strategies and tasks, based on authentic problems and in text reading, in the development of scientific competencies (coincident with these assessed in the PISA report) and in teacher in training in particular with respect to the epistemic practices (...) and the reading competence. Its objectives are: to assess the effecto of the use of these strategies and tasks in a) the transfer of conceptual knowledge into out of school contents; b) the capacity to draw appropiate conclusions from evidence and c) the capacity to criticise claims made by other on the basis of evidence. (...) The current project focuses on how to promote in the classroom the development of the scientific competencies which are related to argumentation: to draw conclusions from evidence (b), and to assess claims made by other (c); as well as with authentic tasks, our use of knowledge in real life contents (a). (...) Data will be collected in the classrooms, combining audio and video recording with written test and analysis of student's products.
