Description

This join research proposal is divided into three main sections: Section I: Biotransformation and disposition kinetics of benzimidazole antihelmintics in cattle: influence of age, diet and nutritional status. Section II: Determination of tissue residue levels of benzimidazoles antihelmintics in cattle. Section III: Characterization of the embryotoxic an teratogenic effects of benzimidazole antihelmintics. Specific research goals are: a) To characterize the plasma dispositon kinetics of benzimidazoles (BZD antihelmintics an their metabolites in cattle). b) to characterize teh influence o age-dependant factors on the "in vivo" pharmacokinetic behaviour of BZD anthelmintics and their metabolites in cattle. c) to evaluate the effects of feeding management and nutritional status on the plasma disposition kinetics and in vitro biotranformation of BZD antihelmintics in cattle. d) to detemine th
