Project Details

Description

This dictionary aims to reconstruct the life and work of those republican authors exiled in 1939 to England, the Soviet Union and America (excluding Argentina, Cuba and Mexico), ranging from the geography of their exile to their professional life. Naturally the main focus of this project is to be found in their literary publications, ensuring that the list of authors and their works, publishers and reviews, is as rigorous and eshaustive as possible. The final result, following on from the work on Argentina and Mexico (1994-1997) and that of France and Cuba (1997-2000), will complete the Biobibliographical Dictionary of the Spanish republican literary exile of 1939,a work which will fill a fundamental bibliographical void in the literary history of the twentieth century.
