Development of Environmentally Friendly Photoactivatable Compounds for Treatment of Microbially Polluted Water

Project Details

The general objecctive of the project is the developement of an efficient procedure for the sterilization of water for aquaculture through the concerted action of visible light and pophyrin-type photosensitizers. The visible light sources require a simple technology and under favourable geographical conditions they can be even replaced by sunlight. More specifically, the project aims at designing, engineering and testing a flow photoreactor for water photosterilization.
